Aluminum 5005 is a medium-strength aluminum alloy with a small amount of magnesium as its primary alloying element. It has good formability, and may be suitable for applications that require bending, spinning, drawing, stamping, and roll forming. It is often used for applications that require an anodized finish.
5005 aluminum sheet is an aluminum-magnesium alloy material with medium strength and good corrosion resistance. Its magnesium content is relatively low, so its corrosion resistance is slightly higher than that of 3 series alloys. It is similar in performance to 3003 aluminum alloy and has good strength. Temper Types
The most common temper for 5005 aluminium is:
H34 – Stabilised – A low temperature thermal treatment or heat introduced during manufacture which stabilises the mechanical properties and relieves residual internal stress, plus usually improves ductility.
Applications of 5005 Aluminium Sheet
5005 aluminium sheet can be used as a high-end wide-format curtain wall material, which has the advantage of an excellent anodic oxidation effect compared with the commonly used 3003 aluminium sheet for curtain wall. In addition, 5005 aluminium alloy is light, only one-fifth of the marble, one-third of the glass curtain wall, and can be perfectly combined with the glass and stone curtain wall material, presenting a fashion, trend, and unique modern architectural style.
