Aluminum sheet & foil in the form of rolls with a thickness > 0.2mm, a width of 20mm to 100mm is generally called aluminium strip. The common name for aluminium strip that is produced in small strip widths is usually split strip. Aluminium sheets are cut into the required size by slitting tooling. The raw material of aluminum strip is pure aluminium or aluminum alloy, hot-rolled, cast-rolled aluminum coil, and hot-rolled coil. Through a cold-rolled machine to form different thicknesses and widths of the rolling sheet and aluminum coil, and then the vertical cutting and slitting machine for different widths of the strip. And the thickness<0.2mm, we call it an aluminum foil strip or aluminum foil coil.

Comparison Table – Aluminum Strip for Lamp Base

Alloy Temper Main Features Lamp Base Applications
1060 O / H14 High purity, excellent corrosion resistance, good conductivity, soft and easy to form Used for simple lamp bases requiring good conductivity and flexibility
3003 O / H14 Good strength, better formability than 1xxx, anti-rust properties Suitable for lamp bases in humid or slightly corrosive environments
8011 O / H14 Excellent barrier properties, corrosion resistance, and recyclability Widely used in lamp bases requiring long-term durability and eco-friendliness

Applications of Aluminium Strip:

  • Refrigerator
  • Commercial freezer
  • Cable wrap
  • Capacitor
  • Anti-theft strips
  • Aluminium/plastic composite pipes
  • Shoes eyelet

Aluminum strips are wide-ranging used in the building industry, industrial constructions, air-conditioning and ventilation, automotive industry and equipment components in diverse products.

How to Select Aluminum Strip for a Lamp Base

  1. Confirm Alloy Grade

    • Choose alloys such as 8011, 1060, or 3003, which are commonly used for lamp base applications due to their excellent corrosion resistance and formability.

  2. Check Temper (Hardness Condition)

    • For lamp bases, O temper (soft) or H14 temper (half hard) are preferred, depending on whether high flexibility or moderate strength is required.

  3. Verify Dimensions

    • Ensure that the thickness and width meet your lamp base design requirements. Typical thickness ranges from 0.2 mm to 1.0 mm.

  4. Surface Quality

    • Select strips with smooth or coated surfaces to ensure good electrical contact and long-term durability.

  5. Environmental Performance

    • Consider strips with eco-friendly and recyclable properties, suitable for lighting products that follow RoHS or green manufacturing standards.

  6. Supplier Certification

    • Work with suppliers that provide ISO, CE, or SGS certifications to ensure stable quality and reliable performance in lamp base production.
